Renewal: what you really pay

Pressable shows list prices, not a first-term discount: yearly billing gives 2 months free and renews at the same yearly price unless Pressable changes it. The real extra cost is overage: visits above your plan are billed at $1.20 per 1,000 and storage at $1 per GB.

What is good and what to watch

Good

  • Run by Automattic on its WP Cloud platform
  • Jetpack Security included; hourly database and daily full backups
  • Production, staging and sandbox sites on every plan
  • Professional email listed in every Signature plan
  • 30-day money-back guarantee; 4.6 on Trustpilot from 303 reviews

Watch out for

  • No data centre in Asia: Los Angeles, Dallas, Ashburn and Amsterdam
  • Visit limits with overage at $1.20 per 1,000
  • $25 a month for one site
  • Billed in US dollars

Speed for Indian visitors

Pressable lists four origin data centres: Los Angeles, Dallas, Ashburn and Amsterdam. Los Angeles is the one it says serves Asia-Pacific. Its edge cache serves cached pages closer to visitors, but uncached pages, logged-in users and WooCommerce carts travel to the US or Europe. For a mainly Indian audience, a host with a Mumbai server is closer.
