Rank Math review 2026: 5 years on our own sites
Why we switched from Yoast, what Rank Math does on this site today with real numbers, and whether you need PRO.
Short answer: Rank Math is the best-value WordPress SEO plugin. Its free version runs our sitemaps, schema, redirects and 404 monitor with no front-end CSS or JS. Buy PRO only for rank tracking or many sites, ideally in the 28 Oct to 3 Dec 2026 sale.
Why I switched from Yoast to Rank Math
I started on Yoast, switched within three months, and have used Rank Math on every site for five years.
Yoast felt limited on the free plan
Redirects and extra keywords needed Premium, priced per site.
Rank Math gave more for free
Multiple focus keywords, schema, redirects and a 404 monitor at no cost.
It scaled to all my sites
I now run it on 5+ sites, from this tech blog to agriculture and finance sites.
Results I could see
A GeneratePress article reached page one of Google within two months of publishing.

- 21 pages have no focus keyword, so they score low
- We fix pages that matter, not every page to 100
Two gaps to close
- 42 broken URLs in the 404 monitor need redirects
- Analytics is on but Search Console is not connected
- Connecting it unlocks keyword data inside WordPress

How we set up Rank Math
The settings that matter most on a new site.
Run the setup wizard in Advanced mode
Choose your site type and logo so the Organization schema is right.
Switch on only the modules you use
Fewer modules, fewer settings to maintain.
Connect Search Console
Unlocks keyword and indexing data inside WordPress.
Use the redirect manager when URLs change
We used it to 301 our old Rank Math post to this review.

Is Rank Math really free?
Yes. The free plugin includes sitemaps, schema, redirections, a 404 monitor and on-page analysis. We run the free version on digitalpritam.in. PRO adds rank tracking, more schema types and advanced features.
Is Rank Math PRO worth it?
For one or two blogs, the free version is usually enough. PRO is worth it if you want rank tracking, the advanced schema generator or you run several sites: it covers unlimited personal sites for €7.99 a month billed yearly.
Rank Math vs Yoast: which is better?
Rank Math includes more in its free version: up to 5 focus keywords, a redirect manager and a 404 monitor, which need Yoast Premium or are missing. Both output good schema and sitemaps.
Does Rank Math slow down WordPress?
On our site it loads no CSS or JavaScript files on the front end; it adds about 6.8 KB of meta tags and schema to each page’s head.
What does a low Rank Math SEO score mean?
It is a checklist score, not a ranking. Our average is 38/100, mostly from pages without a focus keyword and short landing pages. Use it as a to-do list, not a target of 100.
Does Rank Math still add FAQ rich results?
It still adds FAQ schema, but Google now shows FAQ rich results only for a small set of authoritative government and health sites, so do not expect them on a blog.
When is the Rank Math sale?
Rank Math’s own partner page lists its 2026 sale as 28 October to 3 December.
