Gravity Forms vs Formidable vs Fluent Forms (2026): Tested and Priced in Rupees
We built the same form in both free versions on our lab site, measured the weight and PageSpeed, and priced every plan in rupees with GST.

Fluent Forms is the best pick for most sites: conditional logic and Stripe in the free version, every feature on every paid plan from $79 a year (about ₹8,852 with GST), a lifetime option, and the best mobile PageSpeed in our lab. Formidable is cheapest in year 1 and best for calculators; Gravity Forms has no free version but the deepest add-on ecosystem for agencies.

Formidable shows 50% to 60% off the first year (50% on Basic, 55% on Plus, 60% on Business and Elite); renewals are at the full price. Fluent Forms also lists public codes on its own pricing page (TREAT30 on yearly plans, SPOOKY20 on lifetime) that lower the year-1 price; check the price at checkout.
Our lab test: the same form in each free version
Run on our lab site (digitalpritam.in/lab), on the same Hostinger server as this site, on 23 Oct 2026. One page with a paragraph and the same three-field form (name, email, message); each plugin measured on its own with the other switched off.

Weights are every CSS and JS file plus the HTML, gzipped, against the same page with no form plugin (14.7 KB). *On our lab, Fluent Forms added 1.5 KB to every page only because Elementor is active there (its Elementor widget files). Gravity Forms has no free version, so we could not test it without buying a licence.

How to build a form in Formidable and Fluent Forms, step by step

Open Fluent Forms and add a form
After installing the free plugin, go to Fluent Forms, Forms and click Add New Form.

Start blank or from a template
Pick New Blank Form, a ready template, a conversational form or the AI builder.

Drag in your fields
Add fields from the Input Fields panel on the right. We used Name, Email and Message.

Set the confirmation and email
Settings and Integrations holds the thank-you message and the Email Notifications that send each entry to you.

Copy the shortcode
Every form has a shortcode in the forms list. Paste it into any page, or use the Fluent Forms block.

Read entries in WordPress
Entries lists every submission with a chart; the free version stores them and exports CSV.

After installing Formidable Lite, go to Formidable, Forms and click Add New.

Which is better: Gravity Forms, Formidable or Fluent Forms?
For most WordPress sites, Fluent Forms: the free version already has conditional logic and Stripe, every paid plan has every feature, and it was the fastest on mobile in our lab. Pick Formidable for calculators and data-driven apps, and Gravity Forms for agency work that needs its add-on ecosystem.
Is there a free version of Gravity Forms?
No. Gravity Forms is paid only, from $59 a year for one site, with a 30-day refund. Formidable and Fluent Forms both have free versions on WordPress.org.
Which form plugin is lightest?
In our lab, Formidable added 57.3 KB to the form page and Fluent Forms 66.3 KB, both including jQuery. But Formidable's stylesheet also loads on pages without a form (7.6 KB), which Fluent Forms does not do.
How much do these form plugins cost in India?
Year 1 with 18% GST: Gravity Forms Basic about ₹6,611, Formidable Basic about ₹4,426 (then ₹8,852), Fluent Forms Single about ₹8,852. All three bill in US dollars.
Do these plugins take a fee on payments?
Formidable charges a 3% fee on Stripe and PayPal payments on its Basic and Plus plans; Business and Elite remove it. Fluent Forms' free version adds a 1.9% fee on Stripe; Pro removes it. Gravity Forms adds no fee.
Which has a lifetime licence?
Only Fluent Forms, from $349 for one site.
