How much RAM does n8n need?

n8n does not publish a minimum. Its own guide to memory errors says memory use grows with the amount of data a workflow handles, and that the Code node and manual runs use more. So size by what you will run:

• 1 GB: n8n alone, a handful of small workflows (forms to Sheets, Telegram alerts). Add a swap file.
• 2 GB: the comfortable start. n8n in Docker with room to spare.
• 4 GB: AI steps, many workflows, or Postgres on the same server.
