WP Engine review 2026: premium WordPress hosting, read the fine print first
Essential plans in rupees, the first-year rule, visit limits and the India data centre question.

Short answer: WP Engine Essential costs $28 a month billed yearly ($336, about ₹37,650 with GST if charged) for one site and 25,000 visits, or $35 monthly. The yearly price is a first-year offer for new customers. There is no Mumbai region, the current pages show no money-back guarantee, and you must cancel 30 days before renewal.

Renewal: what you really pay
WP Engine’s plans page says first-year pricing and coupons are for new customers on Essential only, and its terms say renewals are billed at “then-current rates”. Plans renew automatically for the same term, and you must give notice at least 30 days before the term ends to cancel. Visits above your tier are billed as overage.
What is good and what to watch

Watch out for
- No Mumbai region: shared plans use Singapore or Sydney

- Auto-updates and managed WAF are paid add-ons on Essential
- No money-back guarantee on the current pages
- Renewal at then-current rates; 30-day cancellation notice
Speed for Indian visitors
WP Engine runs shared plans on Google Cloud. The nearest regions to India are Singapore and Sydney; the only India location, Azure Pune, is for Premium plans. Its Cloudflare CDN serves cached pages from Indian edge points, but if most of your visitors are in India, Kinsta (Mumbai) or a host with a Mumbai server is closer.

Is WP Engine good for India?
It is a strong managed host, but it has no Mumbai region. For an Indian audience Kinsta (Mumbai) is closer; WP Engine suits sites whose visitors are mostly abroad.
What is the WP Engine price in India?
Essential for one site is $28 a month billed yearly, ₹37,650 with 18% GST if charged, or $35 monthly.
Does WP Engine have a money-back guarantee?
Its current plans page and terms show none; fees are non-refundable except where the terms say so. Many reviews still quote an old 60-day guarantee.
What happens if I go over my visit limit?
WP Engine bills overage for extra visits and says it does not cut sites off during spikes.
Does WP Engine include email?
No. You need a separate email service such as Google Workspace or Zoho Mail.
