Hetzner review 2026: cheap cloud servers, but no India region
Hetzner Cloud prices in rupees, the Singapore premium, traffic limits in Asia and who should use it for WordPress.

Hetzner sells some of the cheapest cloud servers in Europe: a 2 vCPU, 4 GB CPX22 is €19.99 a month in Germany or Finland. Its only Asian location is Singapore, where the same server costs €26.99 (about ₹3,403 with 18% GST) and includes just 1 TB of traffic. There is no India region, servers are unmanaged, and Trustpilot users rate it 3.0.

EU servers include 20 TB of traffic. The cheaper Cost-Optimized line (CX and CAX, from €5.99) is EU-only and was marked not available on 28 Oct 2026. Hetzner’s site showed 0% VAT for our India session; the GST column is the upper bound if tax is added.
Billing, bandwidth and extras
What the monthly price does not show.
Hetzner bills by the hour, and its pricing page says a server’s bill never goes above its monthly price cap. Delete a server mid-month and you pay only the hours used. There is no term and nothing to renew.
The catch for Asia is traffic. Each EU server includes 20 TB a month, but Singapore servers include 0.5 TB to 3 TB depending on size. Extra traffic costs €1.00 per TB in the EU and €7.40 per TB in Singapore.

What is good and what to watch
Good
- Low prices in Germany and Finland, with 20 TB of traffic

Watch out for
- No India region; Singapore is the nearest
- Singapore costs about 35% more and includes far less traffic
- Unmanaged: you run the server yourself
- Billed in euros, so your bank may add a forex fee

India and Asia regions
Hetzner Cloud runs in Germany (Falkenstein, Nuremberg), Finland (Helsinki), the USA (Ashburn, Hillsboro) and Singapore. It has no server in India, so for Indian visitors Singapore is the only sensible pick. That adds the Singapore premium and the small traffic allowance shown above.
If most of your readers are in India, a region in Mumbai, Bangalore or Delhi is closer. Vultr has all three, Linode has Mumbai and Chennai, and DigitalOcean has Bangalore.

Managed or unmanaged: what a WordPress beginner gets
Hetzner sells an unmanaged server: you get root access and a blank Linux machine. Installing the web server, PHP, the database, SSL, security updates, backups and fixes is your job. That is fine if you know Linux. If you just want a fast WordPress site, pick one of these instead:
- A managed layer on top: Cloudways runs WordPress for you on DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, AWS or Google Cloud servers, with Indian regions.
- A free panel: CloudPanel, Coolify or a one-click WordPress image does the install, but updates and security are still on you.
- A VPS with a simpler panel and rupee billing: Hostinger VPS has an India location and one-click templates.

On hetzner.com open Cloud, Regular Performance. Prices start with the EU location; switch the server to Singapore in the console for visitors in India.

Create the server
In the Hetzner Console choose Singapore, the plan, an image (Ubuntu or the WordPress app) and add your SSH key.

Use the one-click WordPress app or a free panel. Add a firewall rule set and turn on backups or snapshots before you go live.
